SoundCloud launches its Spotify-rivaling Go service in the US

Little more than a week after striking a licensing deal with Sony, SoundCloud has launched a music streaming service in the US.

SoundCloud Go is the latest competitor to Spotify and Apple Music, offering unlimited ad-free playback for $10 per month.

The streaming library joins SoundCloud’s existing emporium of music from emerging artists, remixes and podcasts, the idea being that its existing user base of 175 million no longer has to go elsewhere for their streaming needs.

SoundCloud Go otherwise offers many of the same features as its rivals, including playlists, online radio stations, offline support, and the ability to follow friends and artists for update

Users can sample the service on a 30-day free trial before signing up for a premium account.
