Huawei Band 2 Pro fitness tracker launches in the U.S. for $69.99

Huawei has introduced a number of wearables in recent years, including Android Wear-powered smartwatches and fitness-focused devices. Now Huawei’s got a new wearable in the U.S. aimed at folks that want a new activity tracker.

The Huawei Band 2 Pro is now available from Amazon. Pricing is set at $69.99, and the device is available in black, blue, or red color options.

Huawei’s Band 2 Pro includes a standalone GPS to provide more accurate pace and distance tracking and to reduce the reliance on your smartphone’s GPS. It also offers 5ATM water resistance to stand up to splashes and swimming, a professional run coach that can help you train for things like 5ks and half marathons, and continuous heart rate monitoring.

The Band 2 Pro can also help you to reduce stress with breathing instructions for relaxation training. And when it’s time to rest, the Huawei TruSleep can monitor your sleep and track light, deep and REM sleeps as well as your sleep interruptions.

As with many other wearables, the Huawei Band 2 Pro can also show notifications from your paired smartphone on its PMOLED black and white display. These include incoming calls and email notifications. The Huawei Band 2 Pro is compatible with devices running Android 4.4 or higher as well as iOS 8.0 or higher.

The 105mAh battery in the Huawei Band 2 Pro is rated to last for seven days of continuous use or 21 days of standby.

While many smartwatches also offer fitness tracking, smartwatches can also be rather pricey. The Huawei Band 2 Pro is more affordable, coming in at $69.99, which makes it attainable to more folks and also makes it hurt a little less if something ends up happening to the device.
